Additional Specifications & Details — Tarang Canoe
Hull & Handling Character
The Tarang’s moderate rocker provides a balance between maneuverability and straight-line tracking.
The width and waterline dimensions are chosen to offer good initial stability - friendly for those newer to paddling.
When loaded within its optimum range, the canoe remains responsive; approaching the maximum load will reduce agility and speed.
Its plain exterior finish is low-maintenance, easy to wash, and durable under regular use.
Construction & Materials
The hull is built using hand-laminated fiberglass, with layers of glass cloth and resin combined to create structural integrity.
All internal structural members are kept to essential elements to minimize weight without compromising strength.
Hardware (bolts, fasteners, etc.) uses corrosion-resistant materials, appropriate for fresh and mild brackish water use.
Load & Performance Guidelines
The optimum load range (160–200 kg) is where Tarang performs best in terms of trim, speed, and control.
At maximum capacity (250 kg), expect reduced acceleration, more drag, and somewhat sluggish steering.
Distribute load evenly fore-to-aft to maintain trim and handling. Heavy gear should ideally be placed close to the centerline.
For solo paddling, place the paddler slightly aft of center, balancing gear forward.
Outfitting & Accessories
Fixed seating is standard; seats are positioned to provide comfortable paddling posture and clearance.
Carry handles at bow and stern make loading, unloading, and portaging easier.
Roof-rack fittings can be integrated into the design, so you can carry Tarang on a car-top with ease.
Use Cases & Intended Audience
Tarang is built for:
Families & casual paddlers wanting a durable, stable, easy-to-use canoe
Camping & weekend adventure trips where gear transport is essential
Resorts, campsites & rental programs needing low-maintenance, reliable craft
Overlanders / vanlifers who want a canoe that can travel on a car roof (with proper mounting)
It’s not designed for extreme whitewater or high-performance racing, but rather for everyday enjoyment on rivers, lakes, and calm waterways.
